The Carrier Sales Representative is a highly motivated, self-driven individual that will source and nurture our carrier and driver network. Our Carrier Sales Representative will drive the retention and expansion of our carrier base , with an emphasis on developing and enhancing our core carrier capacity network and driving carrier adoption to our Zuum technology platform(s). As a Carrier Sales Representative you will connect the environment of trucking and transportation through Zuum’s technology and innovation. You will have the responsibility to work with “Carriers”: trucking company owners, dispatchers and drivers to coordinate the timely pick up and delivery of customer shipments. This role combines inside sales, account management, transportation/logistics planning and operational activities to meet the shipping needs of our customers. Proper Developed Relationships with your carriers will help grow their business, our business and undoubtedly your career. The ideal candidate will have experience both in sales and customer service and operations. The Carrier Sales Representative position has lots of room for growth here at Zuum 

Responsibilities:

  • Grow and Increase Core Carrier Network. Find , develop and manage new carrier partnerships and effectively utilize these partnerships to increase margins, increase capacity and increase on time service. Negotiate and develop carrier direct rates to customers and covering shipments.
  • Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships. Through lead generation, calling prospective trucking companies and referrals. 
  • Train and partner with carriers to accept tenders, assign tracking, quote in the Marketplace : Generation of carrier adoption top Zumm’s Technology
  • Remain in frequent contact with carriers, develop relationships in order to provide Zuum with best of class core carrier connections. 
  • Understand the carrier’s freight needs and match to Zuum freight Opportunities.
  • Negotiate and maintain agreements and keep records of sales and data.
  • Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution
  • Provide exceptional WOW service to our carriers and customers
  • Ensure proactive & timely tracking is achieved and exceeded daily. 
  • Maintain constant contact with our carriers (average 75-100 touch points/day) to secure additional truck capacity to match with the existing business of our customers.
  • Goal of booking a minimum of 12 loads per day after 6 month tenure. 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Required Strong knowledge and experience in conducting market research, sales, and negotiations
  • Required Outstanding knowledge of G-Suite; comfortable in learning new proprietary software systems
  • Required Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
  • Required Organizational and time-management skills
  • Preferred BS or BA in business is preferred
  • Preferred At least 1 year demonstrated experience as Carrier Representative, Carrier Sales Specialist, Operations Representative or in other sales/customer service type role
